Indian Internet Economy is booming with rising Indian Internet population

Yes, Indian Internet economy is seeing a good boom. Earlier in india you were getting to see only sites related to jobsearch, matrimony etc. But Indian internet economy has caught a new thread now. And that thread is Online retailing. Yes my dear friends, nowadays in India online retailing is getting incredible response from the indian internet users. As a result you can see a good number of online retailing sites rising their heads. Internetworldstat.com  reports that in 2010, india had 100,000,000 internet users, where population was 1,173,108,018 and penetration was 8.5 %. If you compare this to the the year 2007, it had 42,000,000 internet users, population was 1,129,667,528 and penetration 3.7 %. These stats say that just in 3 years gap we got to see almost 2 fold growth in the internet users. It means indian internet population is increasing day by day at considerable rate. As a result online Indian consumers are also increasing. Improving salary and  living style of indians also adds to it.

If we take example of some online retailing sites we have flipkart.com and snapdeal.com

Flipkart was co-founded as an online bookstore in 2007 by two IIT graduates who initially bootstrapped it. It's now diversified into general e-commerce, It's now on a $70+ million revenue run rate according to the VC Circle report. Flipkart, the "Amazon of India", is raising $150 million at a $1 billion valuation, says a report by VC Circle. If true, that would make it the first internet startup in India to reach that number.

Coming to snapdeal.com, in an interview given to CNBC TV18, Kunal Bahl, Co-founder & CEO of Snapdeal.com says "Within this year, we will probably cross Rs 150 crore in revenue. We just started 17 months ago and that kind of growth was never seen in India before in any sector of the industry. Also one fundamental thing that ecommerce is doing for consumers in India is providing them access to aspiration. So Indian consumers have lot of aspiration across the country, but Brick and Motar retail has not scaled as fast as everyone wanted and so ecommerce is providing that access to them". Snapdeal.com has got USD40 million investment this year.

By observing the growth of these internet companies we can expect to see some good Indian origin internet brands spreding their business all over the world in future.

Thats all about indian internet economy , I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article, till then just wait...

"Entrepreneurship with green cause": GreenandGoodStore.com, Online shopping portal of eco friendly products

Nowadays online shopping is getting good boom in India. Major proportion of online population shops online nowadays. As a result of this, the number of online shopping portals are increasing day by day. Indiamart.com, flipcart.com, snapdeal.com are examples for the success stories in the field of online shopping portals. Not to forget ebay which is the king of online shopping world. Most of these portals focus on selling cloths, shoes, jewellaries, funitures, variety of electronic goods and other stuff. But, I ask you, have you ever heard of a online shopping portal which sells only green products , i mean eco friendly products? If not you must visit Greenandgoodstore.com which sells only eco friendly products.

Aparna Bhatnagar is the founder of Greenandgoodstore.com, an MBA from Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad, she has worked with Dun & Bradstreet, Citibank, ICICI and M2i Consulting and has vast experience in developing data backed analytical solutions for Marketing, Finance and Risk management. She has also helped develop and implement analytics driven solutions for some of the leading Banks and Credit Bureaus in Central Europe and Middle East. She holds a Masters Degree in Economics from Delhi School of Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, New Delhi. At the store, she is responsible for its day to day management and operations.

Piyush Verma is the technical head, web developer, web designer of this green venture. In addition to these innovative mindsgreenandgoodstore team is equipped with good team of master minds who are all experts in their respective areas.

Greenandgoodstore is the winner of MarutiSuzuki WagonR Think big challenge 2011. The founder Aparna Bhatnagar presented the idea at the event and was successful in convincing the judges. I think the event helped this venture to attract some good amount of investment from investors.

Greenandgoodstore provides variety of echo friendly products. Among them traditional handicrafts, eco friendly rakhis, oraganic soaps, Organic cotton cloths are few which I found very interesting. One very nice thing about this site is that we can plant a tree just by a click as a part of charity that we can do online. It also offers some gifts for certain number of plants planted by us.I appriciate their effort to spread the green message.

In the rush of various online shopping portals which are currently ruling the industry, how greenandgoodstore is going to get major market share which must be one of their goal as a business , we have to wait and see. I would call this green venture as an "entrepreneurship with green cause".

This is it for today. I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article, till then just wait...

Twtbuck.com :Earn money from social networking sites like facebook, twitter, linkdin

Twtbuck.com is a website which runs ad campaigns and helps people who are on various social networks such as facebook, twitter, linkdin etc... to make money by sharing ads on their walls.

Gaurav Sharma who is basically a chemical engineer from NIT Warangal is the founder of this brand new and  innovative social media site. Twtbuck claims to be the only social media company which helps businesses to spread their ads on social netwroks and also helps its users to make money from social media.
Twtbuck.com is pay per click and pay per job social media advertising and crowdsourcing platform. The facebook page of Twtbuck says it has a network of over 20000+ publishers with cumulative reach to over 20 million internet user on twitter and facebook.

Twtbuck was one of the Top 19 start ups of CNBC-WagonR Think Big Idea Challenge event.

How it works:

Twtbuck offers 3 ways to its publishers to earn money.
1. Add Offers: Once you sign into your twtbuck user acount you can see a ad offers menu on the left side if you go there you will be taken to a list of Ad Offers currently available. Each ad offer would be specified with the money which will be paid per click and the country name whose citizens can share those ads. You just have to share that ad on you facebook, twitter or any other social netwroks which you use and suggest it to your friends. If they click on it you will get paid for that.

2. Easy tasks: Its a a list of tasks which can be performed by the publisher and the specified amount of money will be paid for performing that easy task. Most of these tasks are like signing up for websites, writing blogposts about advertiser's business and other simple tasks. Each task would be specified with the amount paid on performing that task.

3. Referrels: You can earny money even by referring you friends to the Twtbuck.

This innovative idea of monitization through social media can be called as a revolution in the field of online monetization. We can say that the Twtbuck has redefined the word monitization. Every one uses social media for connecting with friends and relatives. Apart from that only a programmer can make money from sicial media by building apps. But Twtbuck enables even a simple man with no technical skills to earn money with his social network profile.

But the problem with Twtbuck is that if most of your friends on facebook or any other social networks start using Twtbuck , it may lead to spamming of your 'News feed' which may not be liked by your friends. Many times if a friend keeps sending repeated invitation and gifts from farmvillae people gets frustrated and tell their friends to stop sending those invitations or wahtever. In internet business ads are the major source of income but in the mean time securing good numbers of subscribers and repeated visitors is also important. But according to most internet experts ads are annoying, they disturb the reader while reading a blog and so on the list of problems go on. But Twtbuck pays money for each clicks on ads shared by its subscribers on their social netwroks, so that it has higher potential of increasing spams in the form suggestions by friends. How Twtbuck will get rid of this spamming problem We need to wait and see.

Thats all I wanted to share about Twtbuck.com . I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article till then just wait....

What are the technologies used for India's UID project Adhaar

Adhaar project is almost the largest IT project so far because storing and maintaining the information about 1.2 billion people is not a kid's play and cant be handled by small start ups. Adhaar project gained a lot of attention internationally with Microsoft and Yahoo wanting to be part of it. But now its being handled by Unique Identification Authority of  India led by Nandan Nilekani who is also a co-founder of  IT giant INFOSYS.
Mahindra Satyam and Morpho (part of Safran group) are providing technology for issuing UID's. Mahindra Satyam and Morpho are responsible for maintaining the databses and cross checking the information. Mahindra Satyam is providing  system integration and IT while Morpho is providing biometric equipments. Morpho is the same company which is providing the explosive detectors for Delhi's Indhira Gandhi International Airport.
The UIDAI website has quite a bit of information about the various equipment and the integration. The biometric scanners for the finger prints and iris scans come from L-1 Identity Solutions and Cross Match Technologies. Morpho has signed an agreement with L-1 to use their scanners for this project. In simple terms: UIDAI brings Morpho, Morpho brings L-1. Both L-1 and Cross Match will provide one eye scanner and one finger print scanner.
The software used is currently designed for 32-bit operating systems and requires Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2. For further details you may like to click here
This is a brief overview of technology  behind India's UID project. I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article till then just wait....

Hurray!! I got Google Adwords free voucher worth Rs.2000

Every business organization adopts a methodology of giving initial free service to its customers to impress them. Google is also not lagging behind in this matter. Google also gives initial free service to attract the customers towards its products and services. As a result of this strategy of google i have got a google Adwords free voucher worth Rs.2000 . Google has sent me a book post which contains two papers one is a chart containing step by step procedure about how to activate this voucher. Another paper is a letter addressed to me. In that letter they have specified some rules applicable to this free voucher. Google has given me a unique voucher code which has to be used for voucher subscription. I got this post on may 20, 2011. The second letter says the voucher is valid only till june 30, 2011. And after june 15 the voucher value drops to Rs.1000 .
Why did i get this free voucher:-
I have been using google adsense service from almost 10 months where google is paying me for displaying there ads on my website MUMBuzz.co.nr and blog you are reading now. Google also wants that i should make use of its another service Adwords where google advertises my website and blog on appropriate sites and helps in attracting more visitors to my site and to make use of this service i need to pay google which in turn pays the websites which publish my ads on pageviews and click basis. I am an amatuer adsense publisher and now google is trying to attract me towards Adwords also, by giving this free voucher using which i can make free website publicity worth Rs.2000 .

Advantages of using google Adwords are,

1. Connect with customers online :
You can advertise on google search or other adsense sites. If you advertise on google search you can choose which keywords are relevant to your business and Adwords will show your ads when prospective visitors search for those words or phrases.

2. Control your budget :
If you use pay per click pricing, for instance, you will pay when someone clicks on your ad, and you can set your daily budget and the amount you are willing to pay for a click. Other advertising and pricing options are also available in the Adwords interface.

3. You control where you ad is showing by country, region, or town :
You can decide in what areas your ads will be shown (for example only in your target city or region).

I am very happy i got this free voucher and i have used it. I thought of sharing this news with you people so i wrote about it. I hope you liked this. Thats all is the story about me and google adwords. I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article till then just wait...:-)

Why most young Indian techies dont prefer entrepreneurship

India has given many successful entrepreneurs to the world, but that count is very less. Our young India needs more and more local entrepreneurs to get rid of MNC's which are currently ruling the financial structure of our country. Below I have given some problems faced by young Indian techies when they want to start a venture.
Most Indians are basically from middle class families. In majority of cases they dont get much wealth from their parents. Their education is the only way for them to earn bread and butter. This is the real situation of most of the Indian youth. In that a less proportion of youth somehow manage to finish off their engineering and become engineers. But we have to think from where did they get the investment for their education. Because nowadays in India education has become a big business and unreachable for poor people. To make education reachable to all category of people government has taken many major steps, one among them is providing education loans to the students who take up the professional courses. Advantage of this facility is that even a poor student who cant provide any surety can also get a loan from nationalized banks for his education with less interest rates. But after his education he has to return that loan. If a student does engineering in India  at the present situation he needs minimum 4 lakhs. So if he takes that much amount of money as loan before starting the career itself ,they will be having this responsibility or in simple words pressure of clearing the bank loan which stops them from thinking about entrepreneurship and forces them to go for job.
Apart from these financial problems ,there are many other reasons such as social problem. Usually if nobody in the family has given a try to entrepreneurship, then if an young man wants to give a try, whole family trys to stop him from doing that because they know it has risk and they dont want their boy to take the risk. In addition to this problem in a middle class family if a guy has brothers and sisters usually he will be having responsibility of eduction, marriage of his siblings which makes him to stay away from entrepreneurship because in a case his business strategy fails then he will be in big trouble. Starting to earn as early as possible in the career is the aim of most of the youth, they want to become independent also.
Another problem is related to strategies they make for their ventures. the major problem is getting initial investment is very difficult. even though if one is successful in getting initial investment his planning may be not efficient enough. Most of the young entrepreneurs are not aware of incubation centers which are in action in various metropolitan cities. The goal of these incubation centers is to provide guidance to the people who want to establish their own ventures. Incubation centers analyze your strategies, they predict its market feasibility  and  give you appropriate guidance. You can also expect financial assistance from incubation centers. These centers if they find your plans really interesting will also invest in your venture and take profit shares. But according experts most of the youth begin there ventures by getting inspired from someone ,  they wont be having a plan B also and inspiration remains for short time which leads to failure. So before establishing any venture try to take the training from incubation centers.
Indian youth is an ocean  full of innovations it has been proved by many successful  Indian entrepreneurs and those innovative ideas need support from family, society as well as from government.  So this is it about entrepreneurship and Indian youth, i will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article till then just wait...

Will Windows 8 help Microsoft to overtake Apple

After 25 years of release of first Windows, Microsoft came up with its most expected product Windows Vista. But when it realized it could start loosing market share to the likes of OS X, it woke up and came out with Windows 7, one of the most smoothest Windows versions so far. One year after the release of Windows 7, Apple launched its iPad and changed the way people interact with their computers. Apple taught Microsoft that consumers prefer more to use a touch based, easy to use, intuitive device that does not need much maintenance.
The new Windows is optimized for touch based devices and comes with wonderful tweak like live tiles with notifications as you can seen in the above picture and it also has ability to build apps with HTML5 and Javascript. Hardcore Windows fans are very excited about this new Windows but analysts seem to be not so much convinced about the idea. They still feel Microsoft may miss the bus.
The first contention is that Microsoft is pushing Windows 8 as one platform for every device possible like devices with or without keyboard and mouse, on a broad range of screen sizes and pixel densities, from all slates to laptops, desktops, even for class room sized displays. This is in contrast with Apple and Google that have 2 different operating systems for computers and tablets.
* Apple provides OS X for macs and iOS for iPads.
* Google provides chromium for notebooks and honeycomb Android OS for tablets.
Analyst have doubts about Microsoft's contention that one OS can run on all form of computing devices. They say for Microsoft, tablets are an afterthought, while market is moving towards a mobile/tablet era Microsoft is still sticking to its PC era.
Secondly beneath the new interface with live tiles, there is this same old Windows we know. that means ages of viruses and crashes is still around. Also Windows 8 won't be released till 2012. by which time Apple will release iPad3 and market will be dominated by tablets running android , leaving Microsoft in dust.
This is the story of unreleased Windows 8, I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article, till then just wait....

Problems with Apple iCloud

After blogging about iCloud ,I thought that, just like any other technologies iCloud also must be having certain problems associated with it. After a little research I found out following issues in using iCloud.
First problem is excess use of data connections. iCloud is likely to use more bandwidth than iPhone or any other devices. Pushing digital content to multiple devices at the same time is much more bandwidth intensive than downloading maps, emails or playing games.
Currently user downloads the songs, videos and other data on the computer and then synchronizes that data to his other devices by plugging them in to computer. It is little inconvenient, but user downloads data or digital content only once. But iCloud pushes the digital content to multiple iCloud connected devices simultaneously over internet. This means, data need to be downloaded is amount multiplied by number of devices you have. Now if we multiply this by lakhs of people using iCloud we face huge bandwidth problem and it also puts a lot of stress on already stressed data exchange infrastructure. Such an issue is to be tolerated to just save few minutes from plugging devices into computer.
Second issue is that user loses the control over the data he has uploaded to iCloud. If you store your purchased digital data in  iCloud, it means that Apple has control over what you can view, listen or access. Availability of service is to be taken care of. It is also not sure whether we can upload our own data, songs ripped from cd or the data purchased from some other sources and store it on iCloud.
Third issue,  most common but essential to be considered that is security risk. Because iCloud is just another online data service that stores private information from lakhs of people.

So these are the problems associated with Apple iCloud. I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article, till than just wait....

History of Oracle Corporation

Larry Ellison who is the CEO of Oracle Corporation through out the history took the inspiration from the paper on the relational database management systems(RDBMS) named "A Relational Model of Data for Large shared data banks" which was written by Edgar F Codd in 1970. Ellison had heard about IBM system R database from an article in the IBM Research Journal  provided by Ed Qates(a future co founder of Oracle Corporation).
IBM system R also derived from codd's theories. It is a database system built as a research project at IBM San Jose Research Center(now IBM Almaden research center) in 1970.It was also the first system to demonstrate that a relational database management system could provide good transaction processing performance. Ellison wanted to make Oracle's products compatible with System R, but IBM stopped this by keeping the error codes for their DBMS secret.
Ellison co-founded Oracle Corporation in 1977 with Bob miner and Ed Qates under the name Software development laboratories(SDL). In 1979 SDL changed its name to Relational Software Inc. In 1982, RSI renamed itself Oracle systems to align itself more closely with its product Oracle Database. At this stage Bob Miner served as the company's senior programmer. In 1995, Oracle Systems Corporation changed its name to Oracle Corporation.
So this is the history of Oracle Corporation, I will come back to you very soon with another brand new interesting article, till than just wait....

What is iCloud in simple words

iCloud is the brand new technology launched by Apple Incorporation. Today internet is everywhere. Since most people have at least two devices like a computer and a phone. If one wants to maintain his data such as music, calender, address book and emails synchronized across all his devices, it will be a routine which increasingly becomes tiresome.
This synchronization can be achieved with the use of internet. Nowdays you will get all the media you buy in digitized format so that it can be consumed on devices like phone, ipad, ipod and other computers. Consumers always expect that if they buy a song or book or movie, it should be available on all his devices immediately. He does not want to buy it again for each device they own or copy the dtaa from device to device. The best way is moving everyone's data or media into the cloud so that it does not need to be copied from device to device. Google and amazon launched services that allow users to upload their music into the cloud for access from any device.
One of the objective of this technology is to reduce the overheads of uploading process.Apple wants to allow users to upload only legally purchased music. But it is not possible to decide whether the music is pirated or not. Since the pirated music cant be detected so that top music companies have have decided to at least make some bucks out of this drawback. Apple has made a deal with major music companies and the result is iTunes match.
iTunes match is is a $25 per year and US only service. While uploading music iTunes match looks at your entire music library and compares with the 18 million songs in its database. If it finds a match it automatically upgrades that that song and makes it available to all your Apple device which will avoid the the data uploading overheads. For the rare songs you own Apple does not recognize ,you can upload them manually.

What is Lokpal Bill

The word Lokpal means an ombudsman in India. The word has been derived from the Sanskrit words "loka" (people) and "pala" (protector/caretaker). So the word Lokpal means 'protector of people'. The concept of Lokpal has been drawn up to root out corruption at high places in the prevailing Indian polity.
After 42 years, the Jan Lokpal Bill is still pending in India. The first Lokpal Bill was introduced by Shanti Bhushan and passed in the 4th Lok Sabha in 1969 but could not get through in Rajya Sabha, subsequently, Lokpal bills were introduced in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and in 2008, yet they were never passed and it is pending.
The Lokpal Bill provides for filing complaints of corruption against the prime minister, other ministers, and MPs with the ombudsman. The Administrative Reforms Commission (ARC) while recommending the constitution of Lokpal was convinced that such an institution was justified not only for removing the sense of injustice from the minds of adversely affected citizens but also necessary to instill public confidence in the efficiency of administrative machinery. Following this, the Lokpal Bill was for the first time presented during the fourth Lok Sabha in 1968, and was passed there in 1969.
However, while it was pending in the Rajya Sabha, the Lok Sabha was dissolved so the bill was not passed at that time. The bill was revived in 1971, 1977, 1985, 1989, 1996, 1998, 2001, 2005 and most recently in 2008. Each time, after the bill was introduced to the house, it was referred to some committee for improvements - a joint committee of parliament, or a departmental standing committee of the Home Ministry - and before the government could take a final stand on the issue the house was dissolved. Several flaws have been cited in the recent draft of the Lokpal Bill. Meanwhile the activists of India Against Corruption (IAC) have prepared a draft for the bill called Jan Lokpal Bill.

Blogging and me

When it comes to blogging ,my life is almost similar to a flop movie director who keeps giving flop movies one after the other. When i was in my 1st year engineering ,I was not at all aware of blogging. One  day we attended a technical event organized by Microsoft student partner community. In that event speaker asked many of them sitting in the hall about their blogging experience. Hailing from a small town i was not much aware of blogs and all. But I wanted to check that out and wanted to know what is blogging is all about. I did google it, read some blogs understood whats exactly blogging is, and after going through bunch of blogs obviously i too got an idea of starting a blog and so i started with a blog. Started sharing personnel opinions on blog but in later days lost interest in that and deleted the blog.
Then in the 7th sem of my engineering i came across certain blogs which are earning thousands of rupees for their bloggers like www.merabheja.com . I was really inspired by them and thought of starting a niche blog ( blog based on particular topic). As I was an engineering student I got only idea in mind that is to write technical articles. In the beginning that craze was very high ,i was looking for latest technical news allover the web, new papers everywhere. If I find anything interesting tech news , i used to write about it in my blog. But later onwards lost interest in that also. What I felt is working on niche blog is little difficult coz you will have to look for a particular type of news for your blog which makes you little boring.Even though I managed to write many articles in that blog. I was getting good no. of  visitors also from google crawler. But later I became  so much busy in my academic life that i couldnt even concentrate on looking for technical updates and writing articles was far away and this way that second blog of mine was also a kind of flop.
But now I am about enter a new phase of my life, I am done with my engineering ,going to enter a brand new corporate life. I know that now my thoughts and ideas carry much weight than earlier and expressing  those thoughts and opinions is also essential. So finally i have started with this blog which is going to be the mirror for my thoughts , perspectives, ideas as well as knowledge. This is the story behind starting of this my new blog. That is it , my dear friends ,I will come back to you with brand new interesting article very soon ,till then just wait......
