Hi , After a bit long time back to blogging. This time I am talking about How you can teach Kannada to your non Kannadiga colleagues in office.
One Day as usual I was walking to office on ITPL main road, Don't know why, suddenly started thinking about mother tongue Kannada. I always had this in my mind to do something for mother tongue, max what I can do it teaching and spreading it among non kannada people. I am actually fed up of seeing north indian people in BMTC buses struggling to deal with BMTC conductors and drivers. I have a lot of non Kannada friends, few are willing to learn Kannada but dont know how, many are okay with dealing with local people without knowing local language.
So at this point in time I got a thought , Let me teach Kannada to those few people who would be interested in learning it. But how!! I got an idea, why not to start a mailing list in office, ask people to register for it and everyday send one sentence in Kannada and its meaning in English, If not reading-writing at least let them to learn talking in Kannada, which is more than sufficient as of now initially.
So I reached office, composed a mail and called this whole activity as a Kannada Kali Nali club. Kali Nali derived from Ankalipi that we use to refer to learn counting and alphabets of Kannada in childhood. I wrote in mail ---
Then I got good response sent it to around 60 friends , got around 15 registrations immediately. Many of my Kannada friends pinged me and appreciated me saying great initiative.I thanked them for their appreciation.
Now since 2 days I am sending out the mail to all those email ids in the excel in my computer who have registered for Kannada Kali Nali Club. I am still getting registraion mails from people from different departments. People are liking it and its going great. So far So great.
Moral of the story, If you are a Kannadiga and if you want to do something for your mother tongue in a very simple way, dont wait, hurry up!! and start with a mailing list similar to mine that I am doing in my office.Enjoy teaching Kannada. To be more precise enjoy serving your mother tongue.

have come up with an Idea to start up with a mailing list , register for this
mailing list to learn one sentence in Kannada every day.

friends and team mates also to register, I believe however busy I am I will get
