Will Windows 8 help Microsoft to overtake Apple

After 25 years of release of first Windows, Microsoft came up with its most expected product Windows Vista. But when it realized it could start loosing market share to the likes of OS X, it woke up and came out with Windows 7, one of the most smoothest Windows versions so far. One year after the release of Windows 7, Apple launched its iPad and changed the way people interact with their computers. Apple taught Microsoft that consumers prefer more to use a touch based, easy to use, intuitive device that does not need much maintenance.
The new Windows is optimized for touch based devices and comes with wonderful tweak like live tiles with notifications as you can seen in the above picture and it also has ability to build apps with HTML5 and Javascript. Hardcore Windows fans are very excited about this new Windows but analysts seem to be not so much convinced about the idea. They still feel Microsoft may miss the bus.
The first contention is that Microsoft is pushing Windows 8 as one platform for every device possible like devices with or without keyboard and mouse, on a broad range of screen sizes and pixel densities, from all slates to laptops, desktops, even for class room sized displays. This is in contrast with Apple and Google that have 2 different operating systems for computers and tablets.
* Apple provides OS X for macs and iOS for iPads.
* Google provides chromium for notebooks and honeycomb Android OS for tablets.
Analyst have doubts about Microsoft's contention that one OS can run on all form of computing devices. They say for Microsoft, tablets are an afterthought, while market is moving towards a mobile/tablet era Microsoft is still sticking to its PC era.
Secondly beneath the new interface with live tiles, there is this same old Windows we know. that means ages of viruses and crashes is still around. Also Windows 8 won't be released till 2012. by which time Apple will release iPad3 and market will be dominated by tablets running android , leaving Microsoft in dust.
This is the story of unreleased Windows 8, I will come back to you soon with another brand new interesting article, till then just wait....
